Jordan hosts the 8th West Asia RADO Board meeting and Results Management Training

West Asia Regional Anti-Doping Organization (WARADO) in cooperation with WADA hosted the 8th Board Meeting and Results Management Training in Dead Sea - Jord an from 4-5 April. The board members and trainees from the countries of the region (Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, Palestine and Jordan) participated in the training to advance their experience in Results Management. 
Mr. Kazuhiro Hayashi from WADA Asia/Oceania regional office provided ann update about WADA activities in the continent, while Mr. Tom May from WADA presented and discussed the differences between the 2009 and 2015 code and emphasized on the importance for all the countries to revise their codes to become compliant with the new World Anti-Doping Code. Ms. Nadia Alshamali the director of Anti-Doping Department at the Olympic Council of Asia provide a brief about anti-doping activities and major games in the continent.
The Results Management training was conducted by Mr. Jason Torrance from UKAD to the participants from the member countries.
The board meeting was opened by her Excellency Ms. Lana Aljaghbeer the secretary general of Jordan Olympic Committee. Prof. Kamal Al Hadidi chairman of West Asia RADO welcomed the participants and guests. 
Chairman; Dr. Sultan Albusaidi of GCC & Yemen RADO was invited to participate in the board meeting as a mean of mutual cooperation in the fight against doping in sport. And Dr. Muhammad Alsayrafi the general manager of Anti-Doping Lab Qatar talked about the lab facilities and equipment, and the assistance the lab will be offering to the region countries.
Participant countries discussed the implementation of their anti-doping rules in line with the forthcoming 2015 World Anti-Doping Code, evaluated the operational plan for 2013 and the RADO performance and planned for 2014, and discussed the capacity building of the committees and Anti-Doping expertise by conducting anti-doping events, trainings, and educational programs in the region, while member countries and guests provided an update about their anti-doping activities and programs.
The meeting highlighted the strong collaboration between the two Regional Anti-Doping Organizations, and agreed to build up this collaboration by planning for further mutual conferences and events in the fight against doping.
